The necessary components to facilitate NSX-T overlay networking are automatically created by VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail including VLAN and overlay transport zones as well as Uplink, NIOC, and Transport Node profiles.
This chapter provides the steps that are required to establish north-south connectivity from the NSX-T overlay network to the leaf switches. This includes the deployment of NSX-T Edge appliances and the related NSX-T objects including Edge Cluster profiles, assigning Edge Transport Node roles, and creating an Edge Cluster.
Using the VMware Validated Design 5.0.1 Deployment of VMware NSX-T for Workload Domains, the following sections were completed:
The rest of this chapter contains information to use to augment the previous steps, which include the tables with the specific values used in this guide. If a value is not specified in the following example, then the exact steps and values from the VMware Validated Design are used.
