Using the PowerShell cmdlet Get-VMSwitch, get the name of the SDS switch that was automatically created with the network intent.
You will need the SDS switch name for the next step. The switch name will contain the intent name created earlier.
Create the virtual adapters (all MC nodes)
Use the following PowerShell code example to create the virtual adapters. Change the variables as required.
Change the storage VLANs, IP addresses, PrefixLength, and physical NIC names for every node as per the configuration table in SDS Networks.
$SwitchName = "ComputeSwitch(dell_sds)"
$VMNetworkAdapterName1 = "vSDS-1"
$VMNetworkAdapterName2 = "vSDS-2"
$SDSVLAN_Storage1 = 1001
$SDSVLAN_Storage2 = 1002
$SDC_IP_1 = "172.0.1.31"
$SDC_IP_2 = "172.0.2.31"
$PrefixLength = 25
$PhysicalNICName1 = "SLOT 6 Port 1"
$PhysicalNICName2 = "SLOT 6 Port 2"
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -ManagementOS -Name $VMNetworkAdapterName1 -SwitchName $SwitchName
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -ManagementOS -Name $VMNetworkAdapterName2 -SwitchName $SwitchName
Set VLAN on the new adapters (all MC nodes)
Set-VMNetworkAdapterIsolation -VMNetworkAdapterName $VMNetworkAdapterName1 -IsolationMode Vlan -DefaultIsolationID $SDSVLAN_Storage1 -ManagementOS -AllowUntaggedTraffic:$true
Set-VMNetworkAdapterIsolation -VMNetworkAdapterName $VMNetworkAdapterName2 -IsolationMode Vlan -DefaultIsolationID $SDSVLAN_Storage2 -ManagementOS -AllowUntaggedTraffic:$true
Set IP address and subnet mask for each adapter (all MC nodes)
$InterfaceAlias1 = Get-NetIPConfiguration | Where-Object -FilterScript { $_.InterfaceAlias -like “*$($VMNetworkAdapterName1)*” }
New-NetIPAddress -InterfaceAlias $InterfaceAlias1.InterfaceAlias -IPAddress $SDC_IP_1 -PrefixLength $PrefixLength
$InterfaceAlias2 = Get-NetIPConfiguration | Where-Object -FilterScript { $_.InterfaceAlias -like “*$($VMNetworkAdapterName2)*” }
New-NetIPAddress -InterfaceAlias $InterfaceAlias2.InterfaceAlias -IPAddress $SDC_IP_2 -PrefixLength $PrefixLength
