Lossless Network with Congestion Control or without Congestion Control with NIC or Host DCBx Agent.
Congestion Control will slightly decrease the overall performance output, but it will guarantee that Network Traffic will always be proactive rather than reactive when congestion occurs.
It’s usually the preferred option for Large Network Topology as it offers better Proactive congestion mechanism as compared to a Network Topology using only a reactive approach with priority Flow Control Only.
Host DCBx or Nic DCBx is a matter of preference, and the decision is driven also by NIC capability & interoperability with other solutions.
It should be noted that the default driver option is NIC DCBx mode enabled.
Note: This document is validated only for Broadcom NIC based vSAN RDMA cluster and is not intended to be used for other RDMA workloads.
