Enabling hardware alerts for HCI cluster

    • All checks are successful.
    • Ensure that Alerts is enabled on iDRAC. Go to Configuration > System Settings > Alerts.
    iDRAC provides the capability to set alerts and actions for components that have any deviation from the pre-defined conditions. This feature allows user to receive hardware alerts from iDRAC for each server. You can configure alerts by selecting the various categories (System Health, Storage, Updates, Configuration, Audit) and severities (Critical, Warning, Informational). Once you have configured hardware alerts, an option to clear alert configurations appears.

    To configure alerts:

    1. Log in to WAC and launch OMIWAC extension for cluster.
    2. Go to View: Configure > Hardware Alert or Action > Hardware Alert.
    3. Select Configure Alert and different options to select categories and severities appear. Choose the relevant options and click Configure.

    To view the alerts:

    1. Log in to WAC and launch OMIWAC extension for cluster.
    2. Go to View: Configure > Hardware Alert or Action > Hardware Alert.

      If the alerts are already configured, you should be able to see the alerts generated in the duration selected. You can change the duration from a few hours to last 30 days.

    3. To refresh alerts, click Refresh.

    To remove the configured alerts:

    1. Log in to WAC and launch OMIWAC extension for cluster.
    2. Go to View: Configure > Hardware Alert or Action > Hardware Alert.
    3. Click Clear Alert Configuration. Once the prompt appears, the configured alerts are cleared.
