Dell Technologies has tested and fully validated the following PowerEdge server options for an OpenShift Container Platform 4.14 deployment:
The PowerEdge R6625 server is powered by the 4th generation AMD EPYC™ Scalable processors, with up to 128 cores for faster and more accurate processing performance. The PowerEdge R6625 is a two-socket/1U rack server that delivers outstanding performance for the most demanding workloads. The R6625 model supports up to 32 DDR5 RDIMMS of up to 4400 MT per second (2DPC) or 4800 MT per second for 1DPC (16 DDR5 RDIMMs at a maximum). The R6625 model provides storage options of up to eight 2.5” NVMe, SAS4, or SATA, plus up to 10 x 2.5” NVMe, SAS4, or SATA, and 14/16 x 5th Generation NVMe E3.S. The R6625 provides a New Smart Flow chassis that optimizes airflow to support the highest core count CPUs in an air-cooled environment in the current IT infrastructure. The R6625 offers multiple 4th Generation and 5th Generation riser configurations (up to three PCIe slots) with interchangeable components that seamlessly integrate to address customer needs over time. These features make the R6625 an ideal server for data center standardization on a wide range of workloads.
The PowerEdge R7625 server is powered by 4th generation AMD EPYC™ Scalable processors, with up to 128 cores for a faster and more accurate processing performance. The R7625 is a two-socket/2U rack server that delivers peak performance for the most demanding workloads. The R7625 model supports up to 32 DDR5 RDIMMS of up to 4800 MT/sec (2DPC) or 4800 MT/sec for 1DPC (16 DDR5 RDIMMs at a maximum). The R7625 model provides storage options of up to 12 x 3.5” SAS3 or SATA; or up to 24 x 2.5” SAS4 irSATA, plus up to 24 x NVMe U.2 Gen4, 16 x NVMe E3.S Gen5. It offers multiple 4th Generation and 5th Generation riser configurations (up to eight PCIe slots) with interchangeable components that seamlessly integrate to address customer needs over time. The R7625 is therefore an ideal server for data center standardization on a wide range of workloads that require performance, extensive storage, and GPU support.
