All Day 1-N operational tasks in an APEX Cloud Platform for Azure with PowerFlex configuration are accomplished using several tools. The APEX Cloud Platform for Azure delivers a consistent hybrid management experience.
For granular, cluster-by-cluster operations, you use the APEX Cloud Platform Foundation Software. This software communicates with the underlying infrastructure and integrates automation workflows into Microsoft Windows Admin Center with a Dell extension. For fleet management at-scale, you use Azure management and governance services via Azure Arc. All full-stack life cycle management of hardware, software, and networking for PowerFlex is accomplished with PowerFlex Manager - the unified user interface for administration of all storage operations.
You can provision VMs on CSVs created from the S2D storage pool or PowerFlex block storage from Azure, Windows Admin Center, and PowerShell. You can also create and access persistent volumes mapped to PowerFlex CSVs from your Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) worker nodes. For instructions on how to perform these and other Day 2 operational tasks, refer to the DVD implementation guide.
