The Dell engineering team performed tests on an Isilon F800 storage system by using the SAP HWCCT tool for HANA-HWC-ES 1.1 certification. The following table provides guidelines for estimating the initial number of SAP HANA production hosts that can be connected to a specific Isilon F800 all-flash scale-out NAS storage system:
Number of Isilon chassis/nodes | Number of SAP HANA worker hosts |
1 chassis, 4 nodes | 8 |
2 chassis, 8 nodes | 16 |
Note: Scalability beyond 16 SAP HANA worker hosts requires a customer-specific validation using the SAP HANA HWCCT tool.
Depending on the workload, the number of SAP HANA hosts that can be connected to an Isilon F800 storage system in a customer environment can be higher or lower than the number specified in Table 2. Use the SAP HANA HWCCT tool with scenario HANA-HWC-ES 1.1 to validate the SAP HANA performance and determine the maximum number of SAP HANA hosts on a single storage array.
