You can onboard one or more compute resources in Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite.
By default, after installation, a location, a site, and a resource pool are available. You can either use the same elements or create elements to onboard a compute resource.
To onboard compute resources:
- In the Orchestration page, from the left-side menu, select Inventory, and then click Resource.
- From the Actions drop-down list, select Onboard Device.
- In the Device Discovery page, select one of the following options:
- IP Based—to onboard a single compute resource.
- CSV Based—to bulk upload compute resources.
- For both the options, the following fields are common:
Table 13. Common fields Field Description Locations Select a location. Sites Select a site. Resource Pools Select a resource pool. Resource Type Select the resource type. For example, Compute. - If you have selected the IP Based option, complete the following:
Table 14. Compute resource discovery details Field Description Server Name The iDRAC server name. Device Description The description for the compute resource (iDRAC server). BMC IP The IP address of the iDRAC server. BMC Username The iDRAC server username. BMC Password The iDRAC server password. Note: If using a secret for a key management system, you must enter the secret key name as the password value. For more information about integrating key management systems, see the Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite Installation and Administration Guide.
- If you have selected the CSV Based option, to bulk upload compute resources, click Choose File and upload the .csv file with the compute resource details (Server Name, BMC IP, BMC Username, and BMC Password) in the format specified. Note: You must only provide the values for the fields in the .csv file. No table headers must be provided. Ensure that the format used for BMC IP is http(s)://<IP_Address>.
Depending on the number of resources that are uploaded, this operation might take some time. - For the CSV Based option, after the file is uploaded, Save is enabled. Click Save. The onboarded compute resources are displayed in the Resource list page with a success message and a link that redirects you to the Device Discovery page to view the .csv file execution status.
- For the CSV Based option, in the Device Discovery page, click Download last csv execution status here. You can view which resources have been successfully uploaded.
