Note: If spines are not used, then these steps are not required for a single rack deployment.
Perform the following steps to configure VXLAN: - Create a VXLAN interface.
- Assign the same VTEP source IP address to each peer. This IP address is the VTEP IP address that is configured on interface Loopback 1 earlier.
- Assign a unique primary IP address to optimize routing for orphan ports and active-standby hosts. This IP address can be the same IP address as the router ID.
- Map a VNI to each VLAN that is stretched across the fabric. Valid VNI numbers are 1 to 16777215.
- Create a Layer 3 VNI by mapping the tenant VNI to the tenant VRF VLAN (2001 in this example).
- Exit configuration mode and save the configuration with the end and write memory commands.
