CSM also supports Login through Federated Identity with SAML authentication for enterprises to enable SSO. With this option, individual users within an enterprise do not need to have their Dell accounts created. Users within the enterprise are authenticated by their enterprise Identity Provider (IdP). This feature provides additional security at multiple levels. First, the employees who leave the company are removed from their enterprise Identity Provider and lose access to CSM immediately. Second, if an enterprise has an MFA policy, the same is enforced when logging in to CSM. Setup of FedID for an organization can be initiated by contacting Dell support through the Support option in the Help section of CSM. IdP metadata with a valid signed certificate, user details from the organization that require federated authentication, and the Service Provider (SP) metadata from Dell is exchanged. Dell and the concerned organization test this configuration and the user is approved for federated authentication.
