The APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift uses 2 dual-port network interface cards (NICs) to connect to top-of-rack switches, along with a single gigabit management switch for the iDRACs. The NIC options include 25Gb and 100Gb, however the 25Gb NICs can be connected to 10Gb switches if needed. Three VLANs are used in the solution, 1 Management VLAN (Flex-Management) is for OpenShift application traffic, and 2 Data Path VLANs are for connectivity to the storage cluster.
The solution requires that DNS and NTP services within the environment and prior to deployment IP addresses for these services must be provided. The DNS and NTP endpoints must be accessible from the Flex-Management VLAN.
