We tested the EPIC iO DeepInsights capability to automatically replicate the video captured and stored on our bus device in the lab to another virtual machine playing the role of a DeepInsights system running in a bus depot. The bus system was configured to simulate two daily stops at the bus depot between being in service. We simulated two in-service periods:
- From 5 am to 1 pm
- From 3 pm to 1 am
The following screenshot shows that video replication was configured to use up to 3 Mbps while the bus is out of the depot and in service if a Carrier LTE/5G network is available and unlimited bandwidth when the vehicle returns to the depot between servicing routes.
Our lab did not have a wireless service available, so all replication occurred between 1 am to 5 am and 1 pm to 3 pm. Our initial configuration used storage local to the bus depot VM as shown in the following screenshot. We then switched to an SMB share hosted on a Dell PowerScale scale-out NAS solution for the video transfer destination in our simulated bus depot.
EPIC iO DeepInsights can be configured to automatically replicate a video archive from one or more depots to a centralized Private Cloud; however, for this validation, we used the Sync IO feature of the Dell PowerScale solution.
