  • vSAN for VM local disks

    The VxRail cluster uses a vSAN to configure data stores that provide local disk mapping for all the VMs running on the cluster. We applied a RAID 1 storage policy to the vSAN storage to provide fault tolerance for all the applications writing to vSAN storage. This protection level consumes more disk space than other available RAID options but provides better file access performance.

    vSAN disks were used for the operating system drives and all local file drives used by the EPIC iO DeepInsights VMs in the solution.

    PowerScale for video consolidation and archiving

    Dell PowerScale is a better choice for storing and retaining large volumes of video data that can match customers' needs. The solution uses an A3000 PowerScale appliance for the video stream archive. The performance of the PowerScale storage system is an important design feature for processing requests for historical video data retrieval during analysis with users of CV applications.
