We used the Scene viewer to define one or more zones per camera stream. For example, in the upper left panel, we created three zones (two boxes and one line) that defined ROIs within the scene for the camera focused on the driver area. We then specified rules that attach to ROIs to determine the driver’s motion, the steering wheel, and movement across the line when a driver enters or exits the driver’s seat.
The top center panel in the following screenshot shows the scene created by the front door camera view. We configured one ROI with a line to support counting people entering and exiting the bus through the front door.
The following three screenshots show the workflow we followed for each camera scene. This workflow configures a Line ROI with a Zone Counting rule configured to record simple counts.
We go into more detail of how the ROIs and rules were created for each camera view in the following sections.
