Virtualized infrastructure

  • The Dell Validated Design for Computer Vision is an enterprise-grade engineered platform that has been leveraged for multiple validated designs and has had many successful deployments in the field. The design supports GPU virtualization and runs on Dell VxRail HCI with Dell PowerEdge servers. We chose this platform for LiDAR testing to ensure that LiDAR workloads can run parallel with traditional camera stream analytics processing on a flexible engineered platform.

    The main components from the Dell Validated Design for CV that are leveraged are:

    VMs
    All VMS and CV systems were fully virtualized.
    vGPU
    Virtualized GPU capability that is required to process analytic camera streams.
    vSAN
    All VMs are protected with vSAN storage.
    vCenter
    All system management and operations are performed through VMware vCenter.
