This requires a move towards a more federated solution where LiDAR data is processed at the edge nearer to the sensor. Dell ruggedized servers deployed closer to the LiDAR sensor placements are an interesting candidate architecture to handle this type workload.
What is the actual impact of LiDAR traffic on a production network? We used simulated data streamed from streams captured in files in this testing. Testing with live LiDAR sensors in a closer to real world configuration needs investigation in the future efforts.
