Through a better understanding of how existing systems operate, organizations can improve their insights on how to make cities more efficient, reduce emissions, and improve air quality. This document describes how LiDAR can be used to provide high-resolution, three-dimensional information from the context of a highway environment. The real-time, high-resolution data provided by LiDAR systems can be leveraged for multiple outcomes including optimizing traffic flow, enhancing pedestrian safety, and aiding urban planning.
