This topic provides a brief description of the Bare Metal Orchestrator Remote Serviceability and support feature.
The Embedded Service Enabler (ESE) provides a remote connection to Dell serviceability and support using a secure connectivity gateway (SCG). This provides a way for Support personnel to securely access a Bare Metal Orchestrator instance to troubleshoot issues.
This feature integrates Bare Metal Orchestrator with the standardized and consolidated Dell ESE component that establishes connectivity between Bare Metal Orchestrator installed in a customer site and the support infrastructure in the Dell back end. This enables the use of ESE for telemetry and remote serviceability of Bare Metal Orchestrator.
Bare Metal Orchestrator has a Telemetry Manager (teleMgr) that handles transmission of data through the ESE such as test connectivity status, contact details, and so on. This data is transmitted over the ESE REST API and may also include binary payloads such as logs and crash dumps. You can configure this remote connection through the Bare Metal Orchestrator web user interface.
