Use this guide to determine sizing requirements for the Global Controller, remote sites, and high availability clusters when planning a small, medium, or large deployment of Bare Metal Orchestrator release 2.1.
Sizing is provided for a Bare Metal Orchestrator Global Controller (GC) node in a single-node cluster and for a five-node, high availability (HA) deployment that uses three external GlusterFS storage nodes.
The following table provides information about the terms used in the Bare Metal Orchestrator Network Planning guide:
Term | Description |
Managed devices (MD) | A pool of resources that includes compute, network, and storage elements. |
vCPU | A virtual processor that represents a portion of the physical CPU that is assigned to a virtual machine (VM). |
RAM | The memory space that is assigned to the VM or the host. |
Storage | Stores firmware and operating system images. On the GC or the high availability (HA) nodes, the database is stored on a disk. For better performance, use solid state drive (SSD) type storage. |
