Use the firmware update feature to upgrade or downgrade the firmware version on a switch in NOS mode.
You can perform the following operations:
- View, create, edit, or delete firmware media objects.
- Update the media attributes while creating or editing a firmware media object. For more information about the CLI commands for firmware media, see the Bare Metal Orchestrator Command Line Interface Reference Guide.
- Update the firmware version.
- Verify the firmware update.
Complete the following steps to update firmware for a switch in NOS mode:
- Upload the firmware image to the web server using the Bare Metal Orchestrator CLI:
bmo upload fs -f <firmware image>
- Create a firmware media object. For more information, see Create a firmware media object - Dell switch.
- Update the firmware attributes while creating or editing a switch. Provide the firmwareName in the switch YAML file:
Note: The switch model attribute in the firmwaremedia YAML file and the switch YAML file must be the same.
- Verify that the firmware update is successful and check the firmware version. For more information, see the following:
