- Provide a server or VM for each Controller and Worker component you add to the Wind River® Cloud Platform cluster.
- You need the BMC IP address for the Controller and Worker servers and the administrative credentials.
- Meet the hardware and software requirements:
- Supported Dell Technologies PowerEdge server models include R640, R750, and XR11. For information about supported firmware and BIOS versions, see Validated hardware components.
- The same server models must be used for Controller-0, Controller-1, and Workers.
A Controller-1 and a Worker-0 component are required for each Controller-0 component in the cloud cluster. Additional Controller and Worker components are optional.
You create servers using the Bare Metal Orchestrator CLI and YAML files. Controller-1 and Worker servers are onboarded using the server IP address in the bmcEndpoint setting and require the BIOS settings to enable PXE boot. Sample server YAML files are provided in the ~/samples/servers for Controller and Worker components.
