The SAP HANA VM storage is created by allocating the number of virtual disks (vDisks) from the cluster storage pool based on the SAP HANA memory size and database storage requirement.
When creating an SAP HANA VM in vSphere, for each VM add four vDisks for SAP HANA data volumes and four vDisks for log volumes. Linux LVM is used to create two separate volume groups using physical volumes. On each of these two volume groups, we created two logical volumes with a stripe size of 64 KB and then mounted them to SAP HANA data volumes and log volumes. For more information, see SAP HANA VM recommendations.
