With the NUMA architecture, each processor has its local memory and can also access the nonlocal memory of the other processors over an advanced memory controller. Even though this is a high-performance connection, access to local memory is always faster than access to the non-local memory of the other processors.
When configuring memory for SAP HANA production VMs, you must follow these rules:
For nonproduction SAP HANA database systems, it is not necessary to follow the strict memory and NUMA configuration rules that apply to production systems. Nonproduction VMs can share CPU and memory resources, including the Nutanix CVM.
