Converged emulations share memory and CPU, as directed. Many common functions merged – OSHA (Open Systems Host Adapter) Protocols share Executer, memory, fabric, and other threads. Infrastructure Mgmt (IM) functions merged into EDS.
The Emulation convergence shows legacy emulations pertaining to the Open System Host Adapter (OSHA) and RDF ‘converged’ into one emulation - ‘OR.’
FICON Emulation remains the same, that is, ‘EF’
Infrastructure Management combines EDS and IM emulations into a single executable under the ‘EM’ emulation.
The backend emulation DN remains the same and maps to DN on the PowerMax 2500 and 8500 series arrays.
