The following requirements must be met before deploying the CyberSense on AWS:
- Access to the Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is required for deploying CyberSense.
- CyberSense License.
- Created an IAM instance profile.
- Ensure that the Cyber Recovery solution is deployed on AWS.
Installation steps
Steps to install the CyberSense on AWS using AMI:
- Log in to the AWS management console.
- Get the CyberSense AMI and ensure that it will be deployed in the same region as Cyber Recovery vault.
- Create an instance, click Launch Instance from AMI:
- Under Name and tags, enter a meaningful name for the instance.
- Under Instance type, select one of the following instance types from the list menu:
- r5b.8xlarge—For processing agent-based backups, no VMDKs, or a minimal number of VMDKs in indexing jobs
- i3en.12xlarge—For processing many disk images and a large amount of data.
- Under Key pair (login), select the key pair from the list menu,
- Under Network settings, click Edit and:
- Under VPC, select the Cyber Recovery VPC, which is the Cyber Recovery vault.
- Under Subnet, select the subnet that contains the DDVE and the Cyber Recovery management host,
- Under Firewall (security groups), either create a security group or select an existing security group.
- Click Advanced details and under IAM instance profile, select the profile that you created as a prerequisite from the list menu.
- Log in to the AWS management console and verify the CyberSense instance created.
- Click the instance ID.
- Click the Security tab.
- Under Security groups, click the link for the security group that is attached to the instance to open it.
- Click the Tags tab.
- Click Manage tags.
- Click Add a new tag.
- In the Key field, assign a meaningful tag. Add VPC ID as value for the Value field.
