PowerStore supports both iSCSI and Fibre Channel hosts. While both protocols can be run simultaneously, this configuration can add complexity to routing and failover scenarios. It is recommended to use only one protocol per host.
For this configuration iSCSI was chosen to enable an Ethernet-only environment. The network will be configured as a converged environment to reduce complexity and cost. The connectivity modules used were four port 25 Gb/second Ethernet modules for both the NAS and iSCSI block storage. This provides more than enough bandwidth for the user load. To isolate and allow traffic prioritization, VLANs are configured for each traffic type.
