You can configure SMB share filename limits in the OneFS WebUI by going to Protocols > Windows sharing (SMB) > SMB shares and selecting the share:
A link is available on the View SMB share details window, prompting you to Click here to update file name limits.
You can configure filename length limits on a directory by editing the Restrict Name Length field for the directory. You can select either restricted or full-length name configurations, as follows:
Name-length option | Value |
Restricted (default) | 255 bytes, 255 characters. The default if no name length configuration is specified. |
Full length | 1,024 bytes, 255 characters. |
