Dell Labs performed BasePOD testing by scaling PowerScale nodes with DGX systems to show the ability to linearly scale GPU and storage resources as needed. NVIDIA AI Enterprise and Base Command Manager were used to manage the system and execute tests as additional DGX and PowerScale systems were added.
The DGX image deployed by Base Command Manager incorporated a Linux multipath client driver distributing IO to all of the PowerScale nodes from a single OS mount point. The multipath client driver simplifies the connectivity to the PowerScale cluster nodes and is recommended for high performance and high concurrent workloads, such as AI and analytics.
The following settings were configured on the PowerScale OneFS cluster.

Inline dedupe disabled | isi dedupe inline settings modify --mode=disabled |
Disable endurant cache (should be disabled by default) | isi_sysctl_cluster efs.bam.ec.mode=0 |
