Dell Technologies has provided sample switch configuration files to enable you to easily adapt and configure the switches that you use for the OpenShift Container Platform cluster.
To use the sample files:
git clone https://github.com/dell-esg/openshift-bare-metal.git
Note: If you use different hardware or require different configurations, modify the configuration files correspondingly.
Dell PowerSwitch S5232F switches are in Virtual Link Trunking (VLT) mode and are uplinked to core switches in the environment. The PowerSwitch S3148 switch has an uplink to S5232F switches. The following table shows the port connections between the switches. These connections are reflected in the sample switch configuration files.
Switch name | Port | Description | S5232F-1 | S5232F-2 | S3148 |
S5232F-1 | 1/1/30 | Uplink to core switch | X | X | X |
S5232F-1 | 1/1/31 | VLTi | X | 1/1/31 | X |
S5232F-1 | 1/1/32 | VLTi | X | 1/1/32 | X |
S3252F-1 | 1/1/34 | Uplink to S3148 | X | X | 1/1/49 |
S5232F-2 | 1/1/30 | Uplink to core switch | X | X | X |
S5232F-2 | 1/1/34 | Uplink to S3148 | X | X | 1/1/50 |
S3148 | 1/1/4 | Dell Connectrix FC switch | X | X | X |
The following figure shows sample connections between S5232F and S3148 switches and PowerEdge R650 servers:
