GDC Virtual with PowerFlex can be deployed on bare metal and VMware vSphere which enables you to support the following configurations:
Note: *Bare metal HCI configuration is supported with PowerFlex custom nodes only.
Installation of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters in on-premises data centers without the need for vSphere environment is enabled by GDC Virtual on bare metal.
We can define four types of clusters that are available with GDC Virtual on bare metal:
Standalone: A single cluster that can administer itself, and that can also run workloads, but cannot create or manage other user clusters.
Note: The solution that is in this paper is focused on GDC Virtual bare metal deployment on a two-layer PowerFlex architecture.
