RHEL and SUSE both support Fabric Notifications. Dell performed testing with RHEL 9.2. Below are some notes from this testing:
- Fabric Notification support is disabled by default. To enable it, marginal paths = yes must be set in the multipath configuration file.
- Fabric Notification support is limited to link integrity events where the path will failover to the secondary path on receipt of a link integrity notification.
- The path will not failback automatically when the link integrity events are resolved on the original path. A maintenance event is expected on this path such as cable or optic replacement. Therefore, a link up and link down are needed to recover the previously marginal path back to the active path.
