PowerFlex hardware components consist of controller nodes, HCI nodes, compute nodes, and networking switches:
- PowerFlex controller nodes—PowerFlex Controller nodes are enterprise-class Dell EMC PowerEdge R640 servers that are custom designed to provide compute power and storage capacity needed to run software components required for PowerFlex management.
- PowerFlex HCI nodes—These nodes contribute to both the compute and storage functions of the infrastructure.
- Compute nodes—These nodes contribute only to the compute function of the infrastructure.
- PowerFlex networking switches—These networking switches enable the communication between HCI and compute nodes.
