PowerFlex snapshot policies considerations
The following PowerFlex snapshot policies best practices are recommended:
- When you use the PowerFlex snapshot policy, a set of snapshots is created and maintained at regular intervals, that creates a series of point-in-time database copies. It is important to remember that the policy is not aware of any events that occur at the database level. If a catastrophic event that requires database recovery occurred, it is important to stop the policy so it will not create new snapshots of the corrupt data, and remove older snapshots with valid data.
- Once the database is corrected and valid again, you can put the snapshot policy back in place.
