This section describes how MariaDB can be deployed on a PowerFlex two-layer system. You can deploy this solution on the PowerFlex family of products.
The PowerFlex system consists of four physical servers acting as compute nodes and another four physical servers acting as storage nodes. Compute nodes and storage nodes have PowerFlex SDC and SDS components running on them respectively. Volumes are provisioned from a storage pool consisting of all SAS SSDs attached to storage nodes. Storage nodes belong to the same protection domain. Both compute and storage nodes are deployed using PowerFlex Manager.
The SDC component in compute nodes exposes PowerFlex volumes to ESXi hosts. Datastores are created out of these volumes which are then presented to the MariaDB server VMs.
