The Delphix DevOps platform helps enterprises consistently deliver production-quality data to stakeholders across all phases of application development. The platform enables ingestion of data from heterogeneous data sources, virtualizes that data, provides the capability to mask sensitive data, and then delivers it to key stakeholders as lightweight virtual data copies.
Dell PowerFlex is a software-defined infrastructure platform that is designed to reduce operational and infrastructure complexity, empowering organizations to move faster by delivering flexibility, elasticity, and simplicity with predictable performance and resiliency at scale. The PowerFlex family provides a foundation that combines compute and high-performance storage resources in a managed, unified fabric. With the capabilities available as part of the PowerFlex platform, administrators can easily implement a scalable, high performance, and flexible solution that is designed for the modern data center.
The combination of Dell PowerFlex and the Delphix DevOps platform simplifies the provisioning & automation of applications and their test data onto a single, consolidated infrastructure platform that is flexible enough to handle environments used by enterprise customers today. This paper describes the configuration of a Delphix DevOps appliance deployed within a VMware environment on Dell PowerFlex. It also describes the deployment of PostgreSQL databases, provisioning virtual databases (VDB) using the Delphix engine, and the application of Delphix’s data masking capabilities.
