The Dell SAP engineering team performed extensive tests to validate the use of SAP HANA TDI with PowerStore storage. The test results showed that:
- SAP HANA production installations on PowerStore systems meet the SAP HANA storage performance KPIs if the configuration and scalability rules that are described in this guide are followed.
- PowerStore can provide unified (block and file) or block-only certified storage for FC SAN and NAS/NFS deployments, including shared files systems such as /hana/shared or /sapmnt/SID, even for FC SAN deployments.
- SAP HANA performance and scalability are the same whether PowerStore is configured with single parity (single tolerance R5) or dual parity (double tolerance R6).
- PowerStore clusters with up to four appliances for block storage enable you to linearly scale the number of FC SAN-connected SAP HANA nodes up to 152 nodes.
- PowerStore always-on inline data reduction provides significant storage efficiency and reduces the capacity requirement. Specific savings might vary depending on use case scenarios.
