A file system represents storage resources that provide network file storage. The storage system establishes a file system that SAP HANA hosts can connect to and use for the persistent storage. The file system is accessed through its shares, which draw from the total storage that is allocated to the file system.
Create the file system for NFS exports
In PowerFlex Manager:
The Create File System wizard launches, as shown in the following figure:
The following table shows the NFS security, access, and path options:
Option | Description |
Minimum Security | Choose Sys to enable users to mount and NFS export on the file system without Secure NFS or If you choose to use Secure NFS, select one of the three options:
|
Default Access options | The default access you select is applied to the hosts unless the hosts are configured with a different access permission. The options are:
|
Add Host | Enter hosts individually or add hosts by creating and uploading a properly formatted CSV file locally. To import the CSV file format, select NFS Exports > More Actions > Host Access > More Actions > Imports Hosts. |
Local path | This is the path to the file system storage resource on the storage system. This path specifies the unique location of the share on the storage system. Each NFS share must have a unique local path. PowerFlex automatically assigns this path to the initial export that is created in a new file system. The local path name is based on the file system name. Before creating more exports in an NFS file system, create a directory to share from a Linux/UNIX host that is connected to the file system. Then create an export from PowerFlex Manager and set the access permissions accordingly. |
Export path
| This is the path that the host uses to connect to the export. PowerFlex creates an export path that is based on the IP address of the host and the name of the export. Hosts use either the file name or the export path to mount or map to the export from a network host. |
Note: Only snapshots are supported for protection. Replication is not supported on file systems.
The file system is added to the File System tab. If you created an export simultaneously, the export is displayed on the NFS export tab.
