Telecom Infrastructure Blocks for Red Hat deployment starts with using Enterprise Project Services to collect customer data in Customer Information Questionnaire (CIQ) files and passing that data to Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite, a cloud orchestration system that creates the management and workload clouds. The infrastructure cloud, which deploys the other clouds, is built on top of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which is installed at the Dell factory.
Dell Professional Services installs Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite in a cluster of three control planes. Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite's control plane 1 (CP1) discovers servers and server components in customer-defined telecom regions such as the National Data Center (NDC), Regional Data Centers (RDCs), Local Data Centers (LDCs) and Cell Sites.
After the infrastructure cloud is created, the deployment automation workflow creates a management cloud in the NDC. Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite deploys Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform in that management cloud.
Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite's CP1 collects additional information regarding the server resources for workload clouds. Based on this information, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes, which is located in the management cloud, deploys workload clouds in the NDC, RDCs, LDCs, and Cell Sites.
Connected and disconnected installations
Telecom Infrastructure Blocks for Red Hat supports connected and disconnected Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform installations. A connected installation pulls Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform installation software and images from a Red Hat content delivery network. A disconnected installation pulls the installation software and images from a private registry such as Red Hat Quay.
