The Customer Information Questionnaire (CIQ) files are YAML files that list the information required from customers before Dell Telecom Infrastructure Blocks for Red Hat can be deployed. There are eight CIQ files for the infrastructure cloud, management cloud, and workload clouds and secrets for all clouds.
A CIQ data template represents an aggregation of multiple datasets related to hardware components, software versions, customer site locations, and site networking. A CIQ data template includes data required by Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform to create, connect to, and provision different clouds.
In the CIQ data model, there are ten types of CIQ files for the clouds and their secrets:
- Infrastructure cloud and infrastructure cloud secrets
- Management cloud and management cloud secrets
- Workload clouds and workload clouds secrets
- Scaling out workload clouds and scaling out workload clouds secrets
- Field replacement of management cloud nodes and workload cloud nodes
The following figure shows the CIQ data model:
There are two types of CIQ files: cloud-related CIQs are used to deploy clouds, and secret-related CIQs that provide the credentials that are required to deploy the cloud. Dell Professional Services works with customers to fill in the CIQ YAML files.
The following cloud-related CIQs are available:
- Infrastructure cloud CIQ—Includes network information for the infrastructure cloud, Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite and its site data, and server and operating system information
- Management cloud CIQ information—Includes network information for the management cloud, location details, the version of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, as well as server and operating system information
- Workload cloud CIQ—Includes network information for the workload cloud, location details, the version of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, the related management cloud information, as well as servers, role, and operating system information
- Workload cloud scale-out CIQ—Includes network information for the workload cloud, location details, the related management cloud information, the name of the workload cloud that is scaling out, as well as servers, role, and operating system information
For each cloud-related CIQ there is a corresponding secrets CIQ. The following CIQs provide username and password information for the cloud that is being deployed:
- Infrastructure cloud secrets CIQ
- Management cloud secrets CIQ
- Workload cloud secrets CIQ
- Workload cloud scale out secrets CIQ
