Dell Technologies recommends the following best practices for configuring the LAN:
- Use two 25/10 GbE S5200-ON series network switches for end-to-end client traffic to prevent a single point of failure (SPOF).
- Use a minimum of two network cards to provide high availability and prevent an SPOF. In our laboratory testing, we used qualified 25/10 GbE cards to enable connectivity between the SAP host and the external network.
- Use VLAN tagging to sustain switch failure and NIC teaming to provide multitier network high availability.
- Use NIC teaming to provide high availability at the NIC port level and for virtual and physical network connections.
