PowerStore service scripts are run from the PowerStore service account in the serviceability docker container. Some service scripts provide more ability to monitor and manage PowerStore. Some service scripts can:
These scripts require a lower level of system control than is available through PowerStore Manager, PowerStore CLI, and REST API. The service scripts are intended for the Storage Administrator, field services, and support personal. Because the scripts require a lower level of system control, use care when processing the scripts.
Note: Users should be familiar with Linux, PowerStore installed hardware, and the PowerStoreOS. Some service scripts require root privileges and must not be run without the approval from your authorized service representative or support personnel. Contact your service representative or support for guidance about connecting with SSH and using the service scripts.
Service scripts are run from PowerStore’s service account and require SSH to be enabled in PowerStore. The service account password is initially defined when PowerStore is deployed and configured. By default, the password is the same as the admin password but can be changed during deployment.
When connecting to PowerStore using SSH, the SSH client should use port 26 and PowerStore Manager’s IP address.
When connected to the service account, type svc_help to see the available service scripts:

It may be useful to mount the filesystem on the clients and set wsize and rsize client buffers to the size of PowerStore’s nfs buffer size. To display the current size and range of PowerStore’s NFSv3 I/O transfer buffer size, run the following service script:
svc_nas_global_tools --args="-param -f nfs -i v3xfersize"
The output from this service script is helpful when configuring NFS, especially when using Oracle dNFS. When mounting the NFS filesystem serviced by the PowerStore NAS Server, set the rsize and wsize to the default value reported by the PowerStore service script:
It is recommended to test these changes in a nonproduction environment before changing them in production.

When configuring Link Aggregations, FSNs, and jumbo frames in PowerStore, it is helpful to generate the network configuration report of PowerStore. The report can be used to verify the correctness of the configuration and as a source of record. To generate the report, enter the svc_networkcheck bond_list command:

Precompressed files, such as iso, jpg, mp3, and mp4, are less compressible by PowerStore and may result in PowerStore realizing a lower data reduction rate than expected.
With PowerStoreOS 3.5, it is possible to run a service script (svc_get_unreducible_dp_stats) to generate a report that identifies what data may not be reducing to the expected data reduction rate. This service script is intended for customers, presales, and engineering teams over SSH in the service container.
