Despite advances in technology, availability of business-critical applications remains a challenge in IT organizations. Both planned and unplanned outages can cause undesirable and costly disruptions to businesses.
The metro node appliance represents the next-generation architecture for continuous availability and mobility, and addresses these business continuity challenges. Metro node provides true active-active configurations by performing simultaneous writes at multiple storage arrays. It also supports zero recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO). Metro node can be configured either in a Metro (campus or metro distance) or Local (same datacenter) configuration.
This paper delivers guidance for using metro node with two Dell PowerStore T model arrays in either a metro node Local configuration with an Oracle 19c standalone database, or a metro node Metro configuration with a two-node Oracle 19c RAC Standalone Cluster.
