The final layer of abstraction in a metro node Local configuration environment is the virtual volume. For an Oracle environment, it is recommended that virtual volumes be created from metro node RAID-1 devices. Doing so protects the Oracle database from planned and unplanned outages of either backend PowerStore array.
In Unisphere for metro node, repeat the following steps to create a virtual volume for each metro node RAID-1 device intended to be used by Oracle ASM.
