In PowerStoreOS 4.0 and later, synchronous replication can be configured on block and file resources. When configured, each write to the local resource must be written to the destination system before the host is acknowledged. Each write is transferred to the remote system in its original size, and deduplication and compression savings are handled by the remote system, independently of the source. For more information about synchronous replication, see the Dell PowerStore: Replication Technologies white paper.
