The QoS feature requires OneFS Release 9.9.0.0. It is disabled by default for new clusters and existing clusters upgrading to OneFS Release 9.9.0.0. The QoS feature can be configured through the CLI, WebUI, and API.
For clusters that are upgrading to OneFS Release 9.9.0.0, the release must be committed before proceeding with the configuration.
Before enabling DSCP, verify the current DSCP settings and update as required. To see the firewall DSCP rules from the CLI, use the isi network firewall dscp list command, as displayed below.
To modify a rule’s associated DSCP value, source ports, or destination ports, use the isi network firewall dscp modify <rule_name> command. A --live option is available to have the changes take effect immediately and only applies to active rules. If the --live option is used when DSCP is inactive, the command is rejected.
To reset all of the DSCP settings to the default and disable DSCP, use the isi network firewall reset-dscp-setting command.
Once the DSCP settings are configured to the site requirements, to enable DSCP through the CLI, perform the following:
For more information on the host-based firewall and enabling the feature, see OneFS host-based firewall.
Note: Although the DSCP feature may be enabled before the firewall is enabled, it only activates after the firewall is also enabled.
Before enabling DSCP, verify the current DSCP settings and update them as required. To see the firewall DSCP rules in the WebUI, navigate to Cluster Management > Firewall Configuration and select the DSCP Setting tab, as displayed below.
To modify a rule’s associated DSCP value, source ports, or destination ports, click the Edit Rule button under the “Action” column of the “DSCP Rules” table, displaying the “Edit DSCP Rule” window, as displayed below.
Note: If the DSCP setting is already enabled, any changes to the DSCP rules are only applied after the DSCP service is disabled and enabled. The CLI offers a --live option that allows changes to be applied without disabling DSCP. For more information, see the CLI section above.
To reset all of the DSCP settings to the default and disable DSCP, click the gray “Reset Default Settings” button, as displayed below.
Once the DSCP settings are configured to the site requirements you can enable DSCP through the WebUI by performing the following:
For more information on the host-based firewall and enabling the feature, see OneFS host-based firewall.
Note: Although the DSCP feature may be enabled before the firewall is enabled, it only activates after the firewall is also enabled.
The process for configuring QoS from the API is similar to the CLI and WebUI The applicable REST endpoints for the firewall configuration are the following:
