There are several benchmark tools designed to show video edits or media storage performance. In practice, running these tools against network-attached storage returns unusually low results. Where these tools can be useful is in determining if the storage is “broken,” so if the read or write performance is in the double digits clearly something is amiss. But they should not be used to determine the true performance of a PowerScale storage system.
Adobe Premiere Pro has a unique file system access profile. Optimizations should be measured against the performance of the application itself. It is recommended to create a representative sequence (for the particular use case) and run that against the PowerScale storage.
