Shredder is a service that securely erases data prior to the decommissioning of a PowerMax system. The erasure has a validation process to verify that the data on the drives has been erased. The validation is a user input percentage value of the drive to verify. The array then validates the input percentage on all the drives and upon success generates a certificate. If any non-zero data is found, the process will fail.
The following is an example of a Shedder certificate.
Note: Shredder security standards requires a Dell Professional Services engagement.
