Ansible Vault provides a way to protect sensitive information such as usernames and passwords for use with your playbooks. All modules require authentication, use of Ansible Vault is one way of protecting this information. Full documentation on Ansible Vault can be found here.
After a file is encrypted, the vault password must be supplied to decode and read the file at run time.
To run a playbook that is encrypted using vault or using any files encrypted with vault, supply the extra parameter ask-vault-pass; otherwise, an error will occur.
