Ansible playbooks are usually forward-compatible, but always retest your playbooks before releasing them to production with the latest versions of software. Adopting Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipeline methodologies and tools can be useful and is generally recommended.
To upgrade an existing environment, create a virtual environment and install the latest Ansible collection for PowerMax in the new environment. The upgrade process is the same as the installation process:
With multiple virtual environments configured, you can run playbooks in the virtual environment with which they have been validated. When you need to switch environments, run the source ./{environmentname}/bin/activate command.
