Ansible is an open-source software solution for configuration management and automation of IT resources. Many vendors, including Dell Technologies, provide Ansible collections and modules that enable management of your server, networking, and storage hardware using this popular open-source automation engine. You can also combine functionality from multiple vendors to complement Dell Technologies’ functionality, to provide end-to-end configuration management, and to deliver infrastructure as code.
Organizations can use Ansible collections from Dell Technologies to build processes and deliver environments to customers in self-service models to improve and standardize their existing IT offerings.
This paper provides guidelines and examples for making the best use of the Dell modules for the Dell PowerMax storage array. This information is provided in addition to the information in the product guides and release notes. As module functionality is updated periodically, the processes documented in this paper are updated accordingly.
